The artists
Anna Gabriella Herrera
Anna is an artist that finds inspiration in movements such as Cubism, Expressionism, and even Symbolism. She’s originally from Venezuela and has been living in Barcelona for the past 5 years. Her work is colorful and hides not only aesthetic research, but a political and social critic to the role of women in society and the modern beauty standards. Anna involves a wide range of mediums to produce her work: oil on canvas, mixed media, digital illustration, and even lithography.
Jonathan Riggall
Jon wants to create a space for quiet reflection with his work. His paintings add a soft warmth, and a gentle sense of movement to a canvas. He has created a visual language with a set of rules that emerged organically, taking inspiration from the rhythm of nature and quiet spaces. The moment where he removed curves, shade, and anything figurative, he gained a great sense of freedom. He’s from the UK and he’s been living in Barcelona for over 15 years.
Elin Lindecrantz
Elin is a Swedish artist living in Barcelona. Her work investigates the tension between figuration and abstraction, using the painted media as a form of manifesting observations in everyday life. Her main interest lies in spaces, light, color, atmospheres and urban footprints. She typically works with oil, acrylic and crayons on paper and canvas. In 2022 she was awarded an artist residency at PADA Studios in Portugal, as part of their collaborative residency programme with Turps Banana painting magazine and art school.
Valco
Valco has been living in Barcelona since 2019, and is originally from Buenos Aires. His work has a very dynamic visual language, with loose brushstrokes, expressive lines and great color contrast. He allows himself to explore with different medium and materials, and usually upcycles materials like wood and old canvases as the support for his paintings. Valco’s work is at the limit of abstraction and figuration. His intention is to free imagination through the abstract, while recognising that we can’t escape the human figure as our own reflection.
