Orange peel, 2022. Jonathan Riggall
Technique: acrylic on canvas
Size: 120cm (width) x 120cm (height)
Unique piece
“I went quiet in terms of color a few years ago, especially in the background. Partially with the pandemic and as a reaction agains what I was seeing on instagram. I didn’t want to have the pressure of creating things that would look good in the feed, so I did the opposite.
If I want to use color, I do it in the lines. This one is orange, one of my favourite colors. I repeated a pattern, and to do that I work out one repetition on paper, using numbers; and then repeat it across the painting.”
